Brush Box honey is harvested from hives in pollution-free Australian forests. It is highly sought after with a light amber colour and good density. It has a pleasing aroma and a delicate, mild flavour. Excellent in tea as a natural sweetener or as healthy spread.
The Brush Box Lophostemon confertus (syn. Tristania conferta), is an evergreen tree native to Australia. Other names include Queensland box, Brisbane Box, pink box, box scrub and vinegar tree. Its natural range in Australia is north-east New South Wales and coastal Queensland and flowers in summer. Fresh honey from the Brush Box is generally available from mid-summer onwards.
