Mahogany is a popular Australian honey with a rich golden colour, a savoury flavour and wonderful aroma. This honey has been produced from a single eucalyptus floral variety.
The mahogany tree is valuable for shade, shelter and honey production. It buds in clusters of 5–11 small cream flowers from July to February attracting bees. The mahogany grows mainly inland close to waterways and is an excellent habitat for native birds, mammals (including koalas) and insects.
